Thank you Tessa, you can see why I love living there. It never ceases to take my breath away and right now I miss the hell out of it!!

My pleasure, Wise. I had a feeling you might enjoy it. I envy you living there so much — except maybe at this time of year!

ooh, Newfoundland and Labrador looks beautiful!

It’s twinned with Waterford here in Ireland where I live; but Waterford looks nothing like that!

Actually the College I work for has close ties with the University in Newfoundland… maybe I should look for traveling opportunities! :)

Alan, you would be right at home there, believe me. It’s like Kerry, only more beautiful and the people are funnier and more friendly, if that’s possible. I have only had the pleasure of visiting once, but it’s on my bucket list to go back and spend some real time there. There’s a signpost on top of Signal Hill, outside St John’s, which shows that Ireland is closer to Newfoundland than Vancouver, which just blew my socks off. That and the majestic icebergs floating by (it was May when I was there, so plenty of icebergs still.) I could not get over how peaceful the Atlantic seemed, having spent my childhood holliers in Ballybunion, where the rollers are pretty fierce, even in the summer.

doesn’t NL do some of the the best tourism ads you’ve ever seen…this was great, now i’m feeling like travelling east…in the summer anyhow…

Problem is that they not only make me want to go to NL, they also make me homesick for Ireland!
