This is all such an awful family tragedy being played out in public. It's painful to see and hear, but you can't look away. One thing a friend reminded me of is that cancer -- or any other deadly disease -- makes you crazy for a while. That's run-of-the-mill cancer, not metastatic cancer; I can only imagine what the latter must do to you -- especially when you have young children and know you won't live to see them grow up.

I agree with you, Ruth, it is a tragedy. And hanging by his balls is too good for Edwards. What makes it a Greek tragedy is that Elizabeth Edwards is so consumed by her hatred for the Other Woman, that it is likely eating away at her even more than the cancer. She would have been so much better ofs spending time with her children, not wasting it on writing that awful book. There are so many permutations and ramification to this story. The whole thing is just unspeakably awful. And, of course, that being so, Oprah just had to be there, like a succubus.

I'm not sure which one makes me sicker.....him or Oprah. I'm NOT an Oprah fan, to say the least.

Me neither. Can't stand the woman, to be honest, especially now that she has anointed herself as the Mother Teresa of daytime television. (Never could stand Mother Teresa, either, though.)
